Allie Headshot
Allison Godsey, Executive Director
allison@newtonathome.org

Allison joined Newton at Home as Executive Director in February 2023. She previously served as Program Manager at Beacon Hill Village, where she worked closely with member-led committees, produced the newsletter, nurtured programs, and forged strong partnerships with community organizations such as the Boston Public Library, jointly launching a healthy aging speaker series. Allison has come to believe deeply that we are all experts in our own aging – a challenge best met by harnessing the strengths of a community based in respect, curiosity, friendship, and humor. Allison spent ten years in business before earning a Master's degree from the Boston College School of Social Work where she focused on human services management for older adults. A native of Northern Virginia, she lives with her family in Watertown, where they enjoy outdoor trails, biking, and visiting museums.

After graduating with a BS in mathematics from Grove City College, Kathy started her career as a pension actuary in CT until moving to Newton after she married. She worked for 20 years in the Newton Public Schools as an Executive Assistant in an elementary school office and as an elementary school library aide. She grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She and her husband Eddie, a long-time NAH volunteer, and their rescue dog Rusty live in Newton. Kathy has two adult children who live locally and five grandchildren.
Shamiso edit
Shamiso Hart, Special Projects Manager
shamiso@newtonathome.org

Shamiso Hart started her work with Newton at Home as a volunteer, helping to organize a fun and delicious dinner fundraiser for our 2024 Boston Marathon runner. She felt such a strong connection with the organization that she decided to come on board as the Special Projects Manager. Prior to joining Newton at Home, she had been working for several years as a web developer; but where she excels most is connecting with people. She has enjoyed fundraising at her daughter's schools for initiatives such as increasing socioeconomic diversity and supporting the girls' ice hockey team. Her past experiences include serving as a board members on a couple of nonprofit organizations. When not working, you will find her on the tennis courts, in her garden, or hanging out and cooking with friends.
