Donate

By giving to Newton at Home you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many of Newton’s older residents. Your donation will provide the resources NAH needs to maintain and expand its services, programs, and initiatives.
NAH has two distinct giving opportunities. General Purpose Fund donations support the organization’s operating expenditures and are allocated to areas of greatest need. Our Reduced-Fee Membership Fund provides subsidized memberships to low- and moderate-income seniors.

NAH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with applicable law.

Ways To Give

Donate by Mail

Donate Online
You can now use your credit card to donate up to $1000 to NAH. To donate online, click here for the General Purpose Fund and click here for the Reduced-Fee Membership Fund.

Double Your Donation
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Ask your company if they have such a program. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift to NAH!

Stock
You can also donate stock. For details, please send an email message to treasurer@newtonathome.org. Include your name and contact number. Our treasurer will contact you to provide instructions for the stock transfer. Note: If you are older than 70½, check with your tax adviser about the tax advantages of making a donation of cash or stock directly from an IRA account to NAH.

Charitable Gift Donation to Newton at Home from your IRA
Even though the SECURE Act raised the age when you must take the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for 2021, if you are 70 1/2 or older you can still make gifts directly from your IRA with no federal income tax owed on the gift amount. The qualified charitable distribution is simple: direct your donation to NAH straight from your IRA by Dec 31. Your gift is excluded from your gross income for federal tax purposes. Please consult with your tax advisor before taking action.

Gift to Honor, Remember, and Celebrate
A donation to NAH is a thoughtful way to honor or remember someone who has made an impact on your life or to celebrate a special event such as a birthday or anniversary. Once your gift is received, NAH will promptly acknowledge it by sending a card to the honoree or family you designate.

Planned Giving
With a planned gift to NAH, you can combine your desire to give to charity with your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals. Your planned gift gives you a special connection with NAH for now and for years to come. Talk to your estate planning adviser about how to include NAH as a beneficiary in your will.

Always consult your own advisers before making any gift that has tax implications, particularly where state income tax laws differ from federal law as they do in Massachusetts.
